Todays meeting was called to order at 1:30pm by Bob “Cappy” Cappelini

Business Meeting:

After Cappy’s opening introductions, Ara Rogers, our OLLI director, introduced Carol Campbell, recognition chair person for OLLI, who came to recognize two longtime OLLI volunteers, David Henry and Bob “Cappy” Cappelini with Volunteer Appreciation Awards.

David Henry received the “Lifetime Achievement” award. David has been active since 1993, helped in the development of the first computer training programs in Lifelong Learning programs originally called Senior Net, has taught windows classes, blog classes and is the creator and maintainer of the OLLI Life blog.


Bob “Cappy” Cappelini received the “Award of Excellence” for his many contributions to the OLLI organization since 1995 and has possibly taught more different courses than anyone in OLLI-USF’s history.

Ara joined in the presentation, congratulating our recipients and thanking David and Cappy for their years of service and encouraged their continued service.


From all of us at SNUG, we honor you both as well. Congrats to both of you.


Following the awards, Cappy continued on with the business of the day:


Parking passes are available at all SNUG meetings for $2.50 per session. We are encouraged to get them in advance for convenience. They can be purchased from Irene Stachow.

There will be no December SNUG meeting as it conflicts with the OLLI Christmas party.

Our next SNUG is scheduled for Oct 14th, the second Tues in Oct.


Cecelia Vance read the long list of course names needing coaches for the fall classes. Please check the Evergreen or the class grid on the website for those classes needing coaches and assist if possible.
