This message about his wife Dixiewas recently received from Frank Zacherl, a long term OLLI faculty member.

My wife Dixie had brain surgery two weeks ago today, to remove a tumor (benign, thank God). It all came up in a matter of a few days and the surgery had to be done immediately. She’s at home recovering, with some residual symptoms. I’m optimistic about the prospects for a full recovery.

Needless to say, I have cancelled all planned travel and any extended absences from the house. I’m not committing to anything soon, except for her doctor appointments, follow-up tests, etc.

Hopefully things will be back to whatever normal is, sometime soon. She is in excellent physical condition otherwise and all the medical people are marvelling at her relatively quick bounce-back. But she needs to be watched until the swelling subsides and the wounds heal substantially.–Frank
