Foreign language accent marks can be applied to words in a Windows Word document in different ways.

One such way is to employ ALT codes. For example, to insert a lower-case á, key ALT+0225. For an Ñ, key ALT+0209.
Note: the numeric keypad, rather than the number keys at the top of one’s keyboard should be used.
