WOW (Writers of Wisdom) members have been a bonded group of writers for 13 years since our first Life Story Writing class at USF in 1997 with Jennifer Salmon.

We have lost some of our original members to death or moving, but have gained other members along the way. We have 13 active writers who gather for lunch at the Piccadilly Cafeteria in Carrollwood twice a month to read/critique our new life stories. WOW has published two anthologies of our stories. Some members have published their own life stories, and others are preparing to do so. Although not sponsored by OLLI@USF, all WOW members are active OLLI members or have roots in the senior programs at USF.

The annual WOW party was held this year at the home of Marilyn Bartholomew. A jolly good time was had by all as depicted in the photo taken by member Charlie Delp with Lou’s camera. Standing, left to right: Lou Currie, Brenda Peterson, Jim Hurley, June Miller, Marilyn Bartholomew, Ken Kotecha, Jack Plimmer, Joan Schell. Seated: Brenda Tipps, Bob Cole, Sachi Ann Welsh, and Naomi Stinger (a retired member). Neil Harvey missed the party because of illness.
